Federated Church of East Arlington

We are most grateful to the members of the Federated Church for their support and for allowing us to have many of our meetings at their church.

On Saint Patrick's Day - Saturday, March 17, 2007 the Men's Fellowship sponsored a corned beef and cabbage dinner with the proceeds of $576 going to Habitat.   This evening included great food, good company, and was a fun way to further Habitat's work.

The Londonderry Junior High Youth Group demonstrated their commitment to the community by spending part of their spring break in April of 2006 doing yard work in the area to raise funds for the home that will be built in Winhall - starting in mid August 2006. They plan to come to the site this some day this fall and will help with the construction.

First Congregational Church - Manchester

Our vibrant congregation welcomes you to worship with us and to take part in our many activities. We are followers of Jesus Christ who seek to emulate His way, truth and life in the world. We are a diverse community of faith, drawing together folk from many religious traditions and various parts of the country. At present we have over 300 adult members and 60 children. We offer children's programming throughout the year, including nursery care, Sunday school and fellowship groups for our 5th-12th graders.

We are most grateful to the church for allowing us to host the farewell dinner and celebration that concluded the Global Village week (October 15 - 22, 2006). It was a perfect setting and was much appreciated. We are also thankful to the church for allowing us to use a room for our monthly board meetings. In early June, the church hosted Millard Fuller, founder of Habitat for Humanity. Many of our volunteers were inspired to hear him speak and to meet him.

Second Congregational Church

Rev. Mary Lee Clark
P.O. Box 465
Bennington, VT 05201

Led my Pastor, Mary Lee Clark, members of the church have been active as leaders and builders from the time our affiliate was founded. Pastor Clark was a member of the founding board of directors, and she served as the president of the board for a number of years. She currently serves on the Advisory Board. Each year the congregation makes a generous financial contribution to our affiliate. We are most appreciative of the leadership role that Pastor Clark and members of her congregation have played in our success.

A group from the Second Congregation Church helped with the North Bennington home on Saturday, September 12, 2009.

They did a great job, helping with the sheet rock and varnishing the trim boards. They also dug away the dirt near to the foundation, making it easier for the stucco to be applied.

United Church of Dorset and East Rupert UCC

Members of the Dorset Church helped with the Winhall home on Saturday, November 11th (photo montage above). They brough trim boards that had been cut to fit and had been routed by a group from the church before in Brian Decesare's workshop. They did a great job.

Members of the Dorset Church helped build the home in East Arlington (above right) in December of 2004.

A group from the church helped with the Rupert home in June 2007.

We are most grateful to Rev. Gray and to the members of the Dorset Church for all the help they gave us in hosting the Global Village team during the week of October 15 to 22 2006. Rev. Gray led the group on a special hike on Wednesday afternoon. And we used the church van to transport the team to and from the Winhall site. They helped again in the spring of 2007 and 2008.

On September 14, 2006, Lou Midura, liaison to the Habitat Faith Relations Committee for the Zion Church, brought a crew of three others from Midura Builders and they volunteered their time to put the plywood and felt on the roof. They accomplished a lot in half a day and made a tremendous contribution for which we are most thankful
