Auction 2010 - Teamwork made the dream work! We held our auction on Saturday, July 24th at A Safe Place Self-Storage in East We are extremely grateful to everyone who made generous donations to the auction and to the many volunteers whose hard work and positive spirit made it an extremely successful event. There were 116 bid cards issued and 61 bought at the auction. Gross sales will top $10,000! Marion La Torella and her tag sale team worked for a solid week to clean, organize, and price items for sale. Thanks to their hard work, the tag sale netted $1,576! Things of value that did not sell were donated to the Hoosick Falls, ERC Community Warehouse. In this way we were able to help another organization that does good things for the community.
Most of all, we thank Ruth Stewart, our auction coordinator, and Chalie Stewart for their tireless work. Ruth's strong leadership and attention to detail was clearly evident. Auction Committee - Led by Ruth Stewart, a small committee organized the auction. They started planning for the auction in the early fall of 2009. Chair, Ruth Stewart, Nancy and John Cilio, Clarke Comollo, Sandi Hedman, Marion La Torella, Dick Malley, and Andy Tarantino. Organizations and Businesses that helped us included: The 2 tents over tag sale were borrowed from the Dorset Congregational Church; chairs and tables from Dorset Fire Department, more tables from the First Congo Church in Manchester and E. Arl Federated Church. Auction Supporters Casella Waste delivered and picked up a dumpster, Brown Enterprises (discounted the port-o-pot). Refreshments were provided by Melanie Allen of the Gourmet Deli and and two tents were rented from the W. Pawlet Fire Dept.
Andy Tarantino - owner of A Safe Place - Self-Storage. Andy made it possible for us to store auction items on site, he served on the Auction Committee, and worked tirelessly to insure the auction's success.
