Win Hoyt Golf Tournament

Auction Committee - We will hold our fifth annual auction on July 21, 2012 on the grounds of A Safe Place, a storage facility located in East Dorset. We are planning now for the auction and welcome anyone who has ideas and is willing to help with some of the related projects - from public relations - accepting donations - help with setting up on the day of the auction and many others. Community Relations Committee – This committee is responsible for creating greater awareness of Habitat's mission and our efforts, in particular, to help create more opportunities for "affordable" housing in our part of Vermont.

In particular, this committee plans for all of public relations activities including press releases, events (home dedications, annual meeting, and strategic planning), printed materials, quarterly newsletters, power point presentations, outreach and presentations to groups (schools, service organizations, faith communities),  and the website. Critical Path Committee - This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating all the infrastructure work that will be done on Jennifer Lane.  This includes the road, septic, water, and the strategic planting of trees.

Design Committee -
This committee is responsible for designing the homes that we will build on Jennifer Lane.   Their charge is to design homes that are attractive and that fit into the exisiting neighborhood, that are highly energy efficient, suitable for volunteers to build and affordable and easy for new homeowners to maintain.  They will also consider the placement of the homes on each lot and landscaping around the homes and along the new road.

Homeowner Selection and Support Committee – This committee is responsible for conducting a search, sellecting Habitat homeowner partners, and for assigning and supervising support partners. Every Habitat homeowner is supported in all aspects of home ownership from the time of selection through the end of the first year of home ownership.

Finance Committee - This committee is responsible for monitoring all expenses. It prepares an annual budget that serves as a planning tool and works with each committee chair to insure that we make the best use of limited funds.

Resource Development Committee – It currently costs between $140,000 and $150,000 to purchase land and to pay for building supplies and professional services.  To realize our goal of building two homes a year we need to raise a minimum of $350,000 in gifts and donated materials and services a year.  This committee is responsible for coordinating all fund raising activities.
